March 2004

Hello from snowy Romania,

I’m sure that it is a funny sight for the locals here to see a blonde curly haired American frolic in the snow and look amazed at the sky to see snow coming from the heavens. There is nothing like a Southern Californian seeing snow fall for the first time. It snows almost every day. I walk in it everyday, and I slip on the ice everyday, but I still love it. It is an adventure every time I set out to walk into Colonie to visit the other missionaries and see the street kids.

I want to begin this letter with a praise report and prayer request. I have just been informed that the baby orphanage here locally has re-opened its doors. This means that they will stop forcing the babies back into there families, which recently has led to the murder of and the abuse of many babies. I am going this next week to visit with the orphanages doctor and get the necessary release forms to allow me to visit the children. Please keep this in prayer. Supposedly we have good relations with the doctor, but she has never met me, so who knows what is going to happen. There is also a medical test that is needed; so pray for my bravery. I am so excited and blessed to be able to hold those babies and share the precious gift of love.

I was so blessed to find out that a Sunday school service was started while I was in the States. Thank you so much for your prayers, it looks like it is going well and the children are enjoying the study. It is so precious to hear their faint little voices singing, “Jesus Loves Me” behind the adult worship service. Roxana, Cosmin, and David bring to Kelly Starks house the crafts they made, which are proudly hung on the refrigerator. Please keep this important ministry in prayer. Pray, for the workers, that they would not tire preparing every Sunday for the children’s study.

Yesterday, I was able to look inside my new house. It is very cold, dark, and empty. I will be sending pictures of the inside at a later time. It needs a lot more work than I ever thought. Rick Rotondo told me before I entered, “Now don’t be bummed when you see it.” I smiled, “I look at it as another adventure.” I am so excited.

Again, thank you all for your loving support and prayers. God bless you all.

Still being molded by the Master’s hand,

Kellè
